KCP-PWG warns against hiking price of essential goods

While charging that some businessmen are hoarding and hiking prices of essential commodities by taking undue advantage of the lockdown situation, Kangleipak Communist Party (People’s War Group) has warned that it will suitable actions against traders found selling essential commodities at exorbitant rates.

In a statement, KCP-PWG has also accused the government of remaining silent regarding the matter and expressed discontentment lack of initiative to translate into action announcement to distribute PDS items for three months in order to mitigate hardships being faced by the citizens on account of the lockdown.

Four persons arrested for violating lockdown, released

At least four persons were arrested and released later on bail for violating prohibitory order imposed under section 144 of CrPC in Kakching district on Saturday.

Police source said that the four individuals namely Letgoulen Lhungdim (19) son of Haothang Lhungdim & Limkhanthang Lhungdim (18) son of Ngamlun Lhungdim both of G Songel village and Seikholun Kipgen (45) son of Otkhokhai Kipgen of Lhangnom village, Churachandpur district were arrested from Sugnu Bazar while Laishram Sanatomba (27) son of L Budhichandra of Sekmaijin Hangoon from Sekmaijin area on Friday afternoon.

They were released on Saturday on PR Bond after producing before SDM/Waikhong and one day police custody under section 107 CrPC by today and released on PR & Bail Bond.
