Villagers attacked, 2 still missing in TML


Following an order of the High Court of Manipur issued by Acting Chief Justice N Kotiswar Singh, 17 families of Sangrungpang who were displaced since 2015 returned back to resettle in the village Thursday. However, on their way back home at about 10:30 am, some unidentified persons violently attacked the men, women and children. Six of them were also kidnapped and taken to an undisclosed location. Tamenglong district police led by SDC rescued four of the six kidnapped persons. However, two persons are still missing. Following the violent attack and kidnapping, the 17 families who came to resettle in their village were compelled to go back to Tamenglong town while those injured in the attack are being treated in the District Hospital.
