AR DG exhorts troops to serve people of Manipur

IMPHAL, 1st Sep: Assam Rifles Director General (DG) Lieutenant General Sukhdeep Sangwan visited the field formations and forward areas of Assam Rifles in Manipur from August 31 to September 1.
During the visit, the general officer was briefed in detail by the various commanders on ground about the prevailing security situation and operational preparedness. He was also briefed about the efforts being undertaken for force preservation and COVID-19 preparedness of Assam Rifles in the state.
The DG expressed his satisfaction on the security measures and operational preparedness of the Assam Rifles, in addition to complimenting Inspector General of Assam Rifles (South) headquarters for efficiently managing the security situation in the state. He also interacted with the troops deployed in the forward locations, while appreciating the untiring efforts of the forces in difficult and inhospitable conditions and commended them for carrying out people friendly operations.
Directing the officials to continuously review the operational preparedness, he also complimented the force for maintaining effective counter insurgency gird. The DG then exhorted Assam Rifles to continue extending unstinted support to the people of Manipur for achieving peace, development and prosperity, a release by PRO IGAR (S) informed.
