CM hails Covid warriors, scans RIMS facilities
IMPHAL, 26th Aug: Chief minister N Biren Singh personally reviewed treatment of COVID-19 patients and general patients at Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) on Wednesday.
The chief minister also interacted with administrative staff, doctors and nurses of the institute separately and took stock of their grievances and problems during the visit.
Lauding the role played by frontline workers in the fight against COVID-19 pandemic, N Biren Singh stressed the need for improving relation between doctors and patients and told hospital authority to take special care of pregnant women and children during the pandemic.
Regarding lack of medicine and equipment at RIMS, the chief minister assured that he will apprise the same to Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
On issues relating to outsourcing of 404 contract staff, Biren said that Union Minister had been urged not to outsource the staff during his recent visit to Delhi.
Elated over learning that patients currently undergoing treatment at two Covid facilities of RIMS are recovering fast, the chief minister said that RIMS hospital is fully prepared to fight the pandemic as well as ensure complete recovery of general patients.
RIMS director professor A Shanta, MS professor Ch Arunkumar, HODs and administrative staff took part in the interaction programme with the chief minister.
Chief secretary Dr Rajesh Kumar, principal secretary (health) and director (health services) accompanied the chief minister during the visit.
