Though count of local transmission cases in other districts are minimal, further outbreak of the virus among the general population cannot be ruled out, especially in districts like Bishnupur, Noney, Kamjong and Chandel. TPC has not been able to trace district origin of nearly 60 local transmission cases since the state health authority does not release such data.
Mention may be made that the CCR statement mentioned total count of local transmission cases for two consecutive days a few days back. Since then, no such data including the total and district specific data has been released either to the media or placed in the public domain. Moreover, district specific table of total confirmed, discharged, active, and death cases are not released either by IDSP or CCR. However, two of the three Covid-19 related official websites of the state government update the data on daily basis around midnight but the data lack complete details and are erroneous at times.
