Cabinet approves increment of VDF remuneration
IMPHAL, 6th Aug: The state cabinet gave the approval for increasing remuneration of VDF personnel from Rs 9,500 to Rs 10,500 per month and recruitment of graduate teachers for filling up vacant posts in education (S) department.
The cabinet meet chaired chief minister N Biren Singh at cabinet hall of CM secretariat started from 5pm Thursday and discussed around 35 agendas of different departments.
Informing details of the meet, government spokesperson and education minister Th Radheshyam told The People’s Chronicle that state government took ongoing agitation by VDF personnel seriously and approved increment of their remuneration from Rs 9,500 to Rs 10,500. The cabinet also approved direct recruitment of graduate teachers as district-wise cadres so that problem of shortage of teachers faced by many schools could be solved.
In another agenda, the cabinet approved creation of five principal magistrate posts for Juvenile Justice Board under social welfare department. The cabinet also approved payment of ex-gratia to next to kin of Lt Col Robert of 3rd engineer regiment of Indian Army who martyred on May 14 in Sikkim and honour Ashok Chakra recipient late Maj Jyotin Singh.
