Girl suffering from paralysis dies, tests Covid positive

IMPHAL, 2nd Aug: A 20-year-old girl from Pureiromba Leikai in Imphal East district, who was suffering from paralysis for a long time died on Sunday but she found positive for COVID-19 when tested after her demise.
With this, the death toll from COVID-19 in the state stands at seven as of Sunday.
The deceased girl Huten Olivia Anal was daughter of late Minarhing. She hailed from Chakpikarong in Chandel district but was residing at Konung Mamang Pureiromba Leikai.
As per report received here, Olivia had been residing at Pureiromba Leikai since the past 10 years and was confined to home due to prolonged paralysis. She died at about 1pm Sunday.
Olivia was the grand daughter of BD Kheltung Anal, who died of COVID-19 at CMC hospital, Koirengei. Upon getting report that Olivia died at her home, a team of CMO Imphal East rushed to her house and conducted RAT and the result came positive for COVID-19.
Olivia’s body has been handed over to district administration for performing last rites.
