3 more Covid-19 fatalities take state’s tally to four

IMPHAL, 30th Jul: Covid-19 related fatality in the state has reached four after three more patients succumbed to the disease on Thursday. Two of the patients died as at RIMS and one at JNIMS.
The COVID-19 victims of Thursday have identified as Jangtinlal (40) of Leimakhong, Haolangam Mate (47) of Langol Game village Type II and Abdul Kalam (60) of Thoubal Moijing.
Jangtinlal and Haolangam succumbed to the disease at RIMS hospital while Abdul Kalam died at JNIMS hospital.
As per information received here, Jangtinlal was undergoing treatment at RIMS since June 8 with chronic kidney ailment. He was detected to be COVID-19 positive on June 26 and died at about 2.30 am on Thursday.
On the other hand, Haolangam Mate was brought to RIMS casualty ward at about 10am with breathing problem. He was suffering from chronic kidney failure, diabetes and hypertension and even underwent dialysis at Shija hospitals at 7pm Wednesday. He was given necessary treatment soon after reaching RIMS hospital but passed away at about 11am. When Rapid Antigen Test was conducted, deceased Haolangam Mate tested positive. His earlier COVID-19 test report from Babina diagnostic centre also reportedly returned positive.
Abdul Kalam, the fourth patient who succumbed to COVID-19 in the state, was brought to JNIMS hospital at about 4.30pm with diarrhoea case. Sample for COVID-19 testing was collected soon after he arrived but died at about 5pm. When the result came, he was confirmed of Covid positive. Meanwhile, bodies of both Jangtinlal and Haolangam have been deposited at RIMS morgue with necessary precautions while Abdul Kalam’s body has been deposited at JNIMS morgue with similar precautionary measures.
