PM to launch state’s water supply project
IMPHAL, 20th Jul: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch a water supply project under Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) for Manipur worth Rs 3054 crore on July 23 through video conferencing. Chief minister N Biren Singh discussed about the matter with ruling MLAs during meeting held at the cabinet hall of CM secretariat here Monday. The project is being funded by New Development Bank and it is part of the mission to provide drinking water to every household of the country by 2022. As per source, the launch function in the state will be held at City Convention Centre, Palace Gate with only 50 attendees. Most of the ruling MLAs attended Monday’s meet chaired by chief minister N Biren Singh. The absentees included NPP’s Letpao Haokip, BJP MLAs P Saratchandra, L Rameshwar, Y Radheshyam and N Indrajit. Four BJP ministers are currently in New Delhi.
