Babysana case: JAC warns stir until justice done
IMPHAL, 19th Jul: The JAC, which is demanding justice in the case of Ningthoujam Babysana Chanu, who was found dead under mysterious circumstances inside the dormitory of Standard Robarth Higher Secondary School (Canchipur) on July 18 last year, has warned of launching intense agitations if justice is not served.
The annual Phiroi, the first death anniversary of Ningthoujam Babysana, was held at Ima Khunthokhanbi Shanglen situated at DM College campus on Sunday with a small number of attendees including members of JAC and family.
In a press release, JAC convener L Gyaneshwari informed that the JAC is prepared to carry out ceaseless agitation of different kinds and magnitudes until justice is served in the Babysana case. Gyaneshwari also appealed to the general public to extend support in the struggle for justice.
Moreover, the JAC expressed its regret for limiting observance of first death anniversary of Babysana to only JAC and family members in view of the prevailing Covid-19 situation.
Coordinating Body Khurai and Khurai Pana Apunba Singlup also remembered Babysana on her first death anniversary at Coordinating Body Khurai’s office at Khurai Lamlong Thongkhong Sunday. Apart from paying floral tributes to portrait of Babysana, members present at the event also held a candle light vigil in the evening and prayed for the departed student’s soul to rest in peace. Members present at the event also called for arresting the culprits involved in the killing of the student and punishing them as per law of the land at the earliest.
