No comment, says CM on Brinda’s charge

IMPHAL, 14th Jul: With reference to reports published in some state dailies where then NAB additional SP Th Brinda alleged interferences from higher-up in investigations on drug haul cases, the Lukhosei Zou issue in particular, chief minister N Biren has said that as the matter is sub-judice, it would not be legally proper to comment. “But it is known to all that no person can interfere in any judicial proceedings or court cases as law takes its own course to meet the ends of justice. Our government's war on drugs campaign will continue and no party involved whether friend or relative would be spared in the campaign under the present BJP regime in the state,” the Chief Minister responding to posers raised on the sidelines of a function held at CM secretary on Tuesday. As per reports published in some dailies, Th Brinda's affidavit submitted to the court claimed that various government agencies and elected representatives attempted to dilute the investigation launched against Lukhosei Zou, who is being tried in connection with a drug haul case.
