16 NDRF, AR, BSF troopers test Covid positive
AIZAWL, 5th Jul: Ten National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) personnel, four Assam Rifles personnel and two Border Security Force (BSF) jawans are among the 24 cases of COVID-19 reported in Mizoram in the past two days.
According to the Health department source, the latest update on the COVID-19 status of the State has taken the tally to 186.
Out of the 24 cases, 22 were confirmed for the COVID-19 from Zoram Medical College in Aizawl while two were tested positive for the virus from Lunglei Civil Hospital.
According to the Health department, all the fresh cases of COVID-19 have travel history. Twenty one males are among the fresh cases.
The break up figure of the fresh cases is---14 from Aizawl district, 4 each from Lawngtlai district and Siaha district and two from Lunglei district.
The source then stated that the 10 NDRF personnel are currently posted at Lungverh near the state capital Aizawl and that the 4 Assam Rifles personnel are posted at Zokhawsang in Aizawl.
Meanwhile, 6 COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged in the past 48 hours.
It can be noted here that Mizoram reported the first case of COVID-19 on March 24. (Newmai News Network)
