‘No concealment of facts from public or media’

IMPHAL, 2nd Jul: Even as new cases of Covid-19 continue to rise, the recovery rate too is getting healthier with the state having 48.16 per cent recovery.
On Thursday, 19 new cases were recorded and 37 patients were discharged after which the tally as of Thursday evening is 1279 total confirmed cases, 663 active and 616 recovered cases.
As per statements issued by CCR and IDSP, the 19 fresh cases (14 males and five females) detected in the last 24 hours include 10 from Churachandpur, two each from Kakching, Kamjong & Ukhrul, and one each from Imphal West, Kangpokpi and Thoubal.
The 37 patients discharged on Thursday are from CCC Meitram (19), CCC Kakching (17) and RIMS (1). Of them, 17 are from Kakching, 11 from Ukhrul, five from Pherzawl and one each from Thoubal, Imphal West, Bishnupur and Imphal East.
“Health department has maintained complete transparency on important facts related to Covid-19 pandemic and it is reiterated that there is no concealment of or intention to conceal facts from the public of media,” stated the statement of CCR issued by additional director (health) Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar.
Tamenglong district is still at the top of the tally with 178 total confirmed cases and 135 active cases while Ukhrul is in the second place with 155 total confirmed cases and 88 active cases. With 10 fresh cases detected in the last 24 hours, Churachandpur has climbed up to the third spot with 139 total confirmed cases and 64 active cases. In terms of active cases, Kangpokpi, which has 137 total cases, holds the third spot with 87 active cases. District wise information of two discharged cases is yet to be confirmed as per status summary report issued by IDSP Manipur.
Currently, 7506 persons are kept under quarantine, which include 34 in home quarantine, 1804 in institutional quarantine facilities, 5358 in community quarantine centres and 410 in paid quarantine centres. In the last 24 hours, 678 trucker and 644 commuters including 573 flight passengers were screened for Covid symptoms at Mao, Jiribam and Imphal Airport. With 1424 tests (RIMS-825 and JNIMS-593) conducted in the last 24 hours, the cumulative number of tests conducted till date has reached 53,030.
The state has an infection rate of 412 out of every 1 million people against the national rate of 464 per 1 million people. While the national test rate is 6562 per 1 million people, the state has achieved the rate of 17,090 tests per one million population.
The average growth rate of positive cases in the state in the last one week is 3 per cent per day. Fortunately, the state has not recorded a single death due to the pandemic.
