ZUF asks NSCN (U) to rein in cadres
IMPHAL, 1st Jul: Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF) has strongly refuted the press statement of Liangkebou published by a Tamenglong based daily June 29 edition under the caption ‘1st consultative meeting of Zeliangrong Naga National Workers and Zeliangrong Civil Organisation’.
According to a ZUF statement issued by its information & publicity cell secretary KD Gangmei, Raitu Chawang and his ‘gang’ had already merged into GPRN/NSCN (U) on October 26, 2019 by surrendering the genuine cause of Zeliangrong people and they have no moral authority to use the name of ZUF repeatedly. The outfit also advised leaders of GPRN/NSCN (U) to control members to avoid misunderstanding in future.
ZUF also clarified that two cadres nabbed by Nagaland police at Burma camp who claimed to be ZUF members are not genuine cadres of ZUF but belong to Raitu Chawang led gang and they were sent for extortion and ransom from general public and trade agencies. The statement further said that ZUF was shocked to learn that Zeliangrong Baudi Nagaland, Zeliangrong Students’ Union Nagaland, Zeliangrong Mipui Organisation Nagaland, chairman and GBs Union of Peren district and Zeme and Liangmai council, Nagaland respectively have also attended the consultative meeting organised by the so called Zeliangrong Naga National Workers. The long cherished dream and aspirations of Zeliangrong community to have a separate administration (Zeliangrong Homeland), which has been dearly handed down by forefathers to young generation, has been already sold out by Raitu Chawang and his gang last year by merging with GPRN/NSCN for their selfish motives.
ZUF also appealed to people not to confuse the issues of Zeliangrong and urged all the right thinking intellectuals of Zeliangrong community to put their heads together to work out the modality for realizing the long cherished dream.
