Radheshyam reviews steps to check Covid-19

IMPHAL, 21st Jun: Education minister Dr Th Radheshyam handed over two ambulances to volunteers of Khangarok Community Quarantine Centre on Sunday. The minister bought the vehicles from his own sources and the same were dedicated to the denizens of Thoubal and Kakching districts.
The minister also monitored the Covid situation in the two districts as the in-charge minister. He visited different quarantine centres of the two districts and assessed the situation there.
Speaking on the sidelines of the inspection, Radheshyam informed that the government takes the Covid-19 virus seriously and it is lucky for the state that there has been no fatality although Covid positive cases are rising.
The minister also declared that the number of returnees to the state from outside is few and an accurate figure of active cases could be established soon. With a sincere effort from the side of the government, around 2,000 tests could be conducted each day, the minister said, while adding that the government is trying to complete test of the pending samples and provide the results within 4/5 days.
Contending that there is no problem on the part of in the government in combating the pandemic although there are some disturbances in the state government at present, the minister disclosed that all the ministers of the state are holding meeting everyday regarding the pandemic. The government is strictly monitoring the works rendered by the frontline workers apart from discussing to bring back all the students and employees who are stuck outside the state, the minister assured.
Radheshyam also urged all to support the frontline workers in combating Coronavirus while informing that the two ambulances which he donated will be utilised in Heirok CHC and Nongpok Sekmai CHC after the Covid crisis is over. He also appealed to all concerned to utilise the two vehicles for the welfare of the people.
Among others, Heirok BJP Mandal president Th Chourjit was also present during the event.
