JNIMS augments Covid care beds to 100

IMPHAL, 4th Jun: In view of the increasing number of COVID-19 positive cases in the state, JNIMS hospital has increased the capacity of COVID care beds from 50 (40 Covid ward and 10 ICU) to 100 beds including 90 Covid ward and 10 ICU.
As per a circular of JNIMS director Th Bhimo, an emergency meeting of JNIMS COVID Ward Management Committee with JNIMS director was held at A-Block around 4.30 pm on Wednesday.
The meeting resolved to reorganise and increase the capacity of COVID care beds.
Earlier, due to lack of capacity, JNIMS issued a notice to stop admitting COVID-19 asymptomatic cases until the present Covid-19 patients were discharges.
A letter was to notify bed crunch was sent to Health Services Director by JNIMS Medical Superintendent on June 3.
In the letter, the Medical Superintendent informed that JNIMS has admitted 43 patients, including one patient suspected to be infected.
Treatment Core Committee and Covid Ward Committee of JNIMS hospital conducted a meeting on June 3 regarding the issue, the circular mentioned.
