Delhi returnee nurses possessed Covid-19 negative document
IMPHAL, 18th May: The state health department has informed the public that three nurses who reached Imphal from Delhi on Monday possessed COVID-19 negative certificate issued by a hospital.
Issuing a statement in this regard, additional director (health) and spokesperson Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang said the three nurses reported at Mao entry gate Monday morning and all of them possessed COVID-19 negative certificate issued by a hospital in Delhi. Nevertheless, all of them have been sent to Waikhom Mani Girls’ College, Thoubal for quarantining.
The statement also said that a total of 5,785 state natives stranded in different parts of the country returned and reached Imphal via road and another 4,237 via train as of Monday.
A total of 149 samples tested for COVID-19 on Monday returned negative, the statement said adding that 1384 samples were tested at VRDL of RIMS and another 1120 at JNIMS so far.
Meanwhile, State Surveillance Officer IDSP Manipur Dr L Tomcha Khuman informed on Monday that 385 truckers and 234 passengers were screened at Mao, 239 truckers and 27 passengers at Jiribam and 4 truckers at Jessami. In all, 536 (truck) drivers and handymen were screened at ISBT and 23 (oil tanker) at YAS Complex, Khuman Lampak while 1490 people are staying at government-designated quarantine centres and 4162 at community quarantine centres. The COVID-19 Control Room received 302 calls, the officer conveyed.
