Train from Punjab with 932 passengers arriving today
IMPHAL, 14th May: A Shramik Special Train from Punjab with 932 passengers is expected to arrive at Jiribam Railway Station on May 15 around 1.30 pm.
After medical screening and other formalities, 74 buses which are being stationed at Jiri Tipaimukh Road in front of Jiribam Higher Secondary School under arrangement by the Transport Department transport the returnees to quarantine centres of their respective districts.
In connection with this, Jiribam deputy commissioner W Malemnganba Chenglei, chaired a meeting at 11.30 am at his office chamber and discussed minutely the monitoring and arrangement of the passengers after arrival of the train on Thursday. He also thanked different CSOs and representatives of Departments and Corporations for extending full support to district administration in handling and taking care of the passengers coming from Chennai on May 15 when the train arrived at Jiribam Railway Station and transporting them safely to their respective district quarantine centres.
Under Jiribam district administration, state police force, CMO, Transport Department, Jiribam Municipal Council, PWD, PHED, Electricity Department and District Heads are strictly discharging their service.
