Pray at home, pleas MLA Susindro
IMPHAL, 14th May: Khurai MLA L Susindro has appealed to the Meetei Pangals to offer Namaj at their respective homes instead of going to the Masjids during their holy month of Ramzan.
Addressing a press meet at his private residence Thursday evening, Susindro said that he came across a large crowd of people offering ‘Juma’ in a Mosque at Khabeisoi on Friday last week. Though it is the holy month of Ramzan, this is not a normal time and the Almighty will definitely accept their prayers if they offer it at their respective homes, he said. The MLA reiterated to gather only 5 to 10 people along with the Imam as for maintaining the religious ritual that too while observing social distancing norms.
He also appealed to people of his constituency to contribute towards the community quarantine centres being set up for Khurai assembly constituency. Around 1600 people from the constituency are stranded in different parts of the country. Of them 487 had registered for returning home and all of them would require community quarantine for 14 days. Though there are facilities which can house 400 to 500 people, it would be problematic to keep such large number of people in a centre, especially when one of the person turns out to be positive.
