OPD services resume at RIMS, TBL hospital

IMPHAL, 6th May: After a prolonged shutdown owing to COVID-19, OPD services at RIMS and district hospital, Thoubal resumed functioning on Wednesday amid tight protective measures.
With regard to resumption of service at RIMS, patients have been advised to book prior appointments through the phone numbers - 7085406468/6033849437/6033855708 from noon till 3pm. In addition, hand-washing stations are being installed in four easily accessible spots, equipped with alcohol-based hand rubs/sanitisers. Doctors donning face shield and masks treated patients on a one-by-one basis, while maintaining strict social distancing. Persons without face masks were not allowed entry. Following relaxation of the lockdown imposed for containing spread Novel Coronavirus, OPD service also resumed at Thoubal District hospital with the hospital authority making arrangement to ensure that the OPD service is availed by selected patients and the hospital is not crowded.
Regarding the resumption of OPD service, Thoubal District hospital Medical Superintendent Dr Ch Memcha informed that the OPD service will be available from 9 am to 12 noon and from 1 pm to 4 pm daily. In both the morning and evening sessions, three doctors will be available in the hospital and they will attend to only 30 patients in one session. Entry of patients to one OPD ward will be restricted to 5 patients only, she added.
While appealing to all patients and their parties who wanted to visit the hospital to enter only after wearing face masks and maintain social distancing, the MS sought support and co-operation from all in adhering to the guidelines laid down by the government for preventing the outbreak of Coronavirus.
