Facilitate return of non-locals: MP RK Ranjan
IMPHAL, 30th Apr: Lok Sabha MP Dr RK Ranjan has urged the state government to facilitate non-locals stranded in the state due to the nationwide lockdown to return to their respective places in light of the order issued by Central government on Wednesday to allow people stranded in different parts of the country to return to their respective home states.
The MP on Thursday told newspersons that CM N Biren had forwarded directives for bringing back 84 state natives who have been stuck in Guwahati as an initial step. He also highlighted that MPs of different states had approached him for providing aid and assistance to the stranded natives belonging to other states, following which relief assistance are being extended through the district administrations concerned.
He reiterated that the state government should take initiative and ensure safe return of the stranded people from different parts of the county.
RK Ranjan also urged general public to follow the health and safety guidelines issued by the government, and more importantly wear masks if they are in need of venturing out of home for urgent matters.
