Strict vigil continues at border areas
CCPUR, 26th Apr: Erection of around 220-metre long barb-wire fencing along the Indo-Myanmar border at Pakmual under Singhat subdivision of Churachandpur as part of the government’s efforts to stop trans-border movement of people in the backdrop of Covid-19 outbreak has been completed.
One company of IRB in addition to the existing strength of Behiang PS is patrolling border villages to keep vigil and check cross border movement as measures to stop movement from and to Myanmar.
At the same time, setting up of the temporary accommodation for state security personnel who have been deployed in the area to check cross border movement few days back has been completed and the personnel who were sent for the construction work returned to the district headquarters here Saturday. It may be mentioned here that one additional company of IRB has been deployed in the border area since April22. SDPO Churachandpur has been stationing at Behiang PS to monitor and supervise all activities along the border in coordination with Assam Rifles.
