Meet resolves to bring in stranded Manipuris

IMPHAL, 24th Apr: The first meeting of the State Consultative Committee for COVID-19 held on Friday resolved to bring in state natives who are stranded in different parts of the country. The committee constituted on Thursday has chief minister N Biren as the chairman with ministers, MLAs, JNIMS and RIMS directors, Dr Dhabali, Dr Kh Palin and MU professor Priyoranjan as members while the conveners include chief secretary, DGP, principal secretary (health), NHM state mission director and health services director.The meeting held around 4.30 pm discussed the strategies under which the stranded state natives would be brought in and resolved to entrust MLAs concerned to identify names and locations of stranded people. It also resolved to set up one quarantine facility in each assembly constituency to keep the returnees. The meet also stressed the need for strengthening security measures along the border; exit plan from lockdown; streamlining rice distribution to ensure equal share for all; and opening OPD services of private hospitals.
