Nemcha assesses Covid-19 situation at Mao
SENAPATI, 23rd Apr: Social Welfare and Cooperation minister Nemcha Kipgen, who is minister in-charge of Kangpokpi and Senapati districts, visited Mao Thursday to assess the situation, various measures and activities taken up to contain COVID-19 pandemic.
Minister Nemcha took note of various important issues at Mao screening centre and assured to resolve them at the earliest by instructing the officials concerned for doing the needful.
The minister instructed the Health department and DC Senapati to construct proper screening centre within a week.
During the visit, Nemcha Kipgen also handed over medical kits including thermal scanner, masks, etc., to doctors, nurses and police personnel deployed at the screening centre.
The Minister in-charge also visited Mao police check post and quarantine centre at JNV Mao and took stock of the situation. She also interacted with the quarantine persons at JNV Mao Quarantine centre and appreciated them for their cooperation to the government’s fight against deadly virus.
While assuring that all shortcomings will be put up to the notice of the Chief Minister and that the proper attention will be given to Mao screening centre and check point, the minister further stated that concerted efforts are required from all concerned to save Manipur from the highly contagious disease. During the visit, the Social Welfare minister was accompanied by Nodal Officer of Kangpokpi and Senapati districts M Harekrishna, Public Health additional director Dr L Arke, Public Health deputy director Dr Y Premchandra Singh, DD Dr L Somorendro and SMO Dr O Romesh who are in charge of quarantine and surveillance team of state Covid cell apart from DC Senapati, SP Senapati and CMO Senapati. Minister Nemcha Kipgen was later joined by Outer Manipur MP Dr S Lorho at Mao screening centre.
