Distribution of relief items continues

IMPHAL, 20th Apr: Rotary Club of Imphal donated relief materials for distribution to poor families to DCs of Imphal East and Imphal West districts on Monday. A team of the club led by its president W Rabichandra visited the DC offices and handed over food materials along with five disinfectant sprayers each under the club’s project ‘We Care’.
RSS in association with Seva Bharti Manipur also distributed relief materials to students from Arunachal Pradesh who are stranded at Don Bosco, Senapati and to students form Tripura who are stranded in Churachandpur.
Meanwhile, Hiyanglam MLA Dr Y Radheshyam has started distribution of rice at the rate of 5 kg per head to around 10,000 families in Hiyanglam assembly constituency from Monday. The MLA said that every individual above 5 years of age in his constituency will get 5 kg of rice and he will ensure that there is no shortage of rice for distribution. He also asked all to inform him if anybody is left out in the distribution process and appealed to all to endure the hardships for the sake of the society and their loved ones.
On the other-hand, Film Forum Manipur informed that it will extend aid to its fraternal members who are facing economic hardship for medical treatment, etc., in light of the present lockdown and curfew imposed for containing COVID-19 in the state.
In a statement, the forum said that it will be providing aid and assistance including monetary relief to members of the film fraternity who are suffering from severe illness. The forum will also extend relief to members who are facing hardship due to the current lockdown and curfew.
The Forum informed all its constituent members to provide information of any fraternity members who are facing economic hardship.
Furthermore, it is informed that the Forum has donated Rs 1 lakh to CM’s COVID-19 relief fund.
