Panel to oversee supply of medical kits
IMPHAL, 19th Apr: After a fact-finding committee was formed to look into the issue of supply of soiled masks amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, a Technical Committee has been formed to ensure that quality medical kits and products are supplied for tackling the pandemic.
The Technical Committee is being headed by director (health services) as chairman and convener, a notification issued in this regard by principal secretary (health & family welfare) V Vulumlunmang said. The committee has seven members and they are directors and medical superintendents of RIMS and JNIMS, Dr Th Dhabali of Babina Diagnostics, Dr Usharani of JNIMS community medicine and Ksh Shibananda Singh of Raj Medicity hospital.
The committee shall examine COVID-19 related items received by state medical directorate immediately and ensure that only items fulfilling specifications are accepted. The committee shall maintain proper records all the items and suppliers, the notification said.
A COVID-19 Medical Materials Management Committee too has been formed to make regular assessment of materials, sources for procurement and related issues to ensure that required medical materials for tackling COVID-19 pandemic are always available.
The committee comprises additional chief secretary (finance) Dr Rajesh Kumar as chairman and principal secretary (planning) Rakesh Ranjan and principal secretary health & family welfare) V Vumlunmang as conveners. The committee also has director (commerce & industries) C Arthur Worchuiyo, NHM state mission director N Geoffrey and director (health services) Dr K Rajo as members.
