580 lockdown violators detained

IMPHAL, 18th Apr: Around 580 people and 347 vehicles were detained on Saturday for violating the lockdown imposed for containing COVID-19 and were made to pay fine amounting to Rs 56,640 in total.
According to a statement issued by Manipur Police Department ADGP (LO) L Kailun, in Imphal West District, 89 people and 61 vehicles were detained, while Rs 2,800 was collected as fine; in Imphal East District, 35 people and 30 vehicles were detained, while a fine of Rs 3,200 in total was collected; in Bishnupur District, 43 people and 28 vehicles were detained, and collected Rs 5,700 in total as fine; in Thoubal District, 225 people and 151 vehicles were detained, while a fine of Rs 23,140 in total was collected; in Kakching District, 17 people and 20 vehicles were detained, while a fine of Rs 3,000 in total was collected, and in Chandel District, 3 people and 1 vehicle were detained, while a fine of Rs 300 was collected. Meanwhile, in Churachandpur District, 49 people and 39 vehicles were detained, while a fine of Rs 12,500 in total was collected; in Noney District, 12 people and 1 vehicle were detained, while a fine of Rs 3,000 in total was collected; in Jiribam District, 16 people were detained; in Kangpokpi District, 15 people and 15 vehicles were detained; in Senapati District, 3 people were detained and a fine of Rs 900 was collected; in Ukhrul District, 70 people and 1 vehicle were detained, while a fine of Rs 700 was collected, and in Tamenglong District, 3 people were detained and a fine of Rs 1,400 was collected, it informed.
