IPAK warns business operators

IMPHAL, 14th Apr: While appealing to the public to refrain from mass gathering and to maintain social distancing, Indigenous People’s Association of Kangleipak (IPAK) has announced that it will take up action against business operators who are selling essential commodities at hiked prices.
In a statement, IPAK strongly condemned mass gathering and unwanted gathering that took place on April 11 when the lockdown was relaxed for some hours. The association also appealed to the government to enforce the public curfew strictly while demanding the government to ensure availability of essential commodities to the public. The association further appealed to respective MLA to distribute edible items for which Rs 25 lakh had been sanctioned and appealed to the government to arrange educational programme for students through TV channels.
Lastly, the association asked the government to take strict punitive action against anyone who sells commodities at hiked prices.
