RPF salutes martyrs
IMPHAL, 11th Apr: With the coming of ‘Athoubasinggi Numit, April 13, 2020’, the proscribed Revolutionary People’s Front (RPF) has extended revolutionary salute to all the martyres who laid down their lives during the course of Manipur’s liberation struggle.
The outfit also extended its deepest regards to all the people who succumbed to torture and rendered permanently disabled by India’s military repression during the course of the ongoing liberation struggle.
In honour of supreme sacrifices made by valiant fighters during Manipur ’s liberation struggle, all the communities settling in Manipur since time immemorial with love and harmony pay homage to martyres on April 13 observed as ‘Athoubasinggi Numit/Martyrs’ Day’ every year, the outfit said in a statement issued by its publicity secretary Roben Khuman. However, Roben appealed to people to observe this year’s Athoubasinggi Numit at home or at nearest tombs at opportune moment and situation in view of COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown imposed to prevent spread of the deadly virus.
