Efforts on to distribute PDS items
IMPHAL, 11th Apr: In view of the COVID-19 pandemic and prolonged lockdown in the state, the state government has been taking up concerted efforts to distribute PDS items to every household in all the districts of the state.
In Kangpokpi district on Saturday, 1092.70 quintals of AAY rice were lifted and distributed to 3122 households while 6146.65 quintals of PHH rice were distributed to 26507 households of the district. Another 40 quintals of rice were also made available to 410 households under Open Market Sales Scheme (OMSS).
In respect of Bishnupur district, a total of 10198.75 quintals of rice has been allocated for six assembly constituencies – Nambol, Oinam, Bishnupur, Moirang, Thanga and Kumbi. The allocated rice will be lifted soon.
Similarly, for Churachandpur district, 10020.85 quintals of rice have been allocated, out of which 100 quintals have been distributed to 1043 households of Tuibong (B Vengnom), Churachandpur (Bungmual & Emmanuel Khopi) and Saikot (Muolvaiphei) sub-divisions under OMSS.
A total of 1.9 quintal of rice has been distributed to 134 households in Kamjong district under OMSS on Saturday.
As of Sunday, the quantity of rice allocated for 14 ACs of Imphal West district are Thangmeiband (1600.85 quintals), Uripok (1419.35 quintals), Sagolband (1431.30 quintals), Keishamthong (1459.05 quintals), Singjamei (1259.35 quintals), Yaiskul (328.40 quintals), Patsoi (2012.83 quintals), Konthoujam (1804.32 quintals), Lamshang (2270.70 quintals), Sekmai including portions of Saitu (1587.35 quintals), Wangoi (1668.10 quintals), Naoriya Pakhanglaka (1895.31 quintals), Langthabal (1670.25 quintals) and Mayang Imphal (1888.35 quintals). Out of the allocated quantity, Thangmeiband, Uripok, Patsoi, Lamshang and Mayang Imphal A/Cs have lifted 1600.85, 1419.35, 1472.90, 1940.50 and 1580.10 quintals respectively so far. For Patsoi Part I, 125.10 quintal was lifted and for Patsoi Part III, 131.00 quintal was lifted for the month of April.
Under the OMSS Scheme for Imphal West district, a total of 190.25 quintal of rice was distributed covering 1,953 households/families and under AAY/NFSA, a total of 256.10 quintal of rice was distributed covering 1,281 households/families.
