RIMS gets 10 more ventilators, four test negative
IMPHAL, 8th Apr: As part of steps being initiated by Manipur government to fight COVID-19 pandemic, 10 new ventilators have been installed at Regional Institute of Medical Science (RIMS), Lamphelpat Tuesday.
Earlier, the regional medical institute had 19 ventilators for treatment of different ailments but 22 ventilators including 18 newly brought were installed recently by opening a special isolation ward to deal with COVID-19 pandemic. In addition to this, 10 new ventilators were installed on Tuesday at special isolation ward and this would immensely help the institute in fighting COVID-19 pandemic, RIMS authority informed.
Meanwhile, additional director (MD) and health department spokesperson Dr Kh Sashikumar said in a statement that four people including a woman who returned from China were tested for COVID-19 but their result came negative late Tuesday night.
A total of 149 people were screened for COVID-19 at Mao gate Wednesday and another 169 people at Jiribam, status report delivered by joint director (medical directorate) and SSO, IDSP Dr L Tomcha said, adding that a total of 74 people are under home quarantine and 107 people are still at quarantine centres opened by government.
