RPF lauds frontline COVID-19 fighters
IMPHAL, 6th Apr: While extending its sincere gratitude and thanks to frontline COVID-19 fighters like doctors, nurses, paramedical staff and those in essential service sector, the proscribed Revolutionary People’s Front (RPF) has stressed the need for fighting the virus collectively without any differentiation on caste, creed and religion or rich and poor.
The outfit also extended revolutionary salute to Manipur police, CSOs and students bodies who are working sincerely to prevent further spread of the disease in Manipur.
According to an RPF statement, COVID-19 pandemic is not targeted to a particular community or religion but to entire human race and thus reached Manipur infecting two individuals. However, one of them has recovered and saved from the jaws of death and Manipur has only one COVID-19 positive case now.
Even though the pandemic is out of control in advanced western countries like United States, Italy and Spain where positive cases and fatalities are increasing, timely imposition of lockdown by government and people’s support to this restriction by staying at home has able to contain the disease in Manipur, the RPF statement issued by its publicity secretary Roben Khuman said.
While lauding efforts of doctors, nurses, medical staff, police, CSOs and students bodies in containing the disease, the outfit stressed the need for remaining alert till human race defeats the virus completely.
Taking serious note of the airlifting of huge consignment of betel leaves by hiring air cargo and bringing non-locals into the state by drivers amidst the lockdown, the outfit appealed to all concerned not to indulge in such activities anymore.
