Minister urges all to join hands incombatingCoronavirus


BPR, 1st Apr: In order to ensure nec- essary steps are put in place for combating the pandemic Coronavirus, a meeting was convened at Bishnupur DC conference hall with Health and Family Welfare minister L Jayantakumar, who is the nodal o cer of the district, in the chair.

Among others, the meet- ing was attended by Nambol MLA N Loken, Oinam MLA L Radhakishor, Bishnupur MLA Govindas Konthoujam, Moirang MLA P Saratchan- dra, anga MLA T Robindro, Kumbi MLA S Bira, addition- al chief secretary Letkhogin Haokip, Bishnupur DC Neeta Arambam, SP Priyadarshini Laishram, Bishnupur CMO Dr T Manihar, District Surveillance O cer Dr L Raichandra, CAF and PHED o cials.

In his address, minister Jayantakumar sought sup- port and co-operation from all MLAs and o cials concerned in easing the problems faced by the denizens of the district. He also conveyed that the govern- ment is trying its best to pre- vent the pandemic COVID-19 and all quarantine centres in the state are being operated under strict vigil.

While urging the public to maintain health and hygiene by using hand sanitizers, hand gloves and face masks, the minister further declared that preventive measures like spraying of disinfectants will be conducted in the district soon.

He also called upon the public to join hands in pre- venting the deadly virus from spreading.

DC Bishnupur Neeta Aram- bam conveyed that the district administration has taken up necessary measures to ensure availability of essential com- modities to local people by opening some selected gro- cery shops and by maintaining social distance from 6 am to 11 am. Bishnupur SP Priyadarshini Laishram also assured that the police personnel will maintain law and order situation in the district and enforce the public curfew so that there is no mass gathering in the district by conducting constant frisking and checking in the district. She also vowed to detain all those who violated the curfew. 

The MLAs who were present at the meeting drew attention of Health minister L Jayantakumar to the need for availing necessary PDS items and medicines to the public. They also requested the minister to sanction the PDS items for three months under NFSA to them for distribution among the beneficiaries.

During the meeting, members present also discussed distribution of mid-day meal and anganwadi benefits to the students and children.
