Three held for violating lockdown at Senapati
Senapati, March 30: Three youths were arrested at Senapati town for violating the lockdown order under the influence of alcohol and disturbing public peace and tranquillity at Senapati bazaar on Monday.
Under the supervision of the district SP, police teams were enforcing the lockdown guidelines around the district headquarters town during which the trio was apprehended as a preventive measure. A Bolero (NL-07H/4425) that the three were travelling in has also been impounded.
During the course of interrogation, the arrested persons admitted the charge levelled against them and confessed that they were under the influence of alcohol.
After all three subjected to medical examination, the MO/Senapati confirmed about their alcohol intake. The arrested persons were referred to the district magistrate for necessary process under Section 34(6) Police Act.
Meanwhile, the District Police appealed to the public to extend cooperation in taking up preventive measures to contain the spread of pandemic in the district.
As a part of the joint effort to prevent outbreak of Covid-19 in the district, civil society organisations, district administration and Senapati Police arranged hand wash facilities around the district headquarters.
