Curfew relaxed in Imphal East and West districts

Imphal, Mar 30: Amid the lockdown imposed by the government in order to combat the pandemic Coronavirus, the state government relaxed the public curfew for some hours on Monday morning to enable the denizens of Imphal East and Imphal West districts stock essential commodities.

The general public have been facing hardships in purchasing essential commodities due to the lockdown and curfew currently enforced in the state to contain possible further spread of the infectious disease.

During the brief relaxation of curfew, markets at Singjamei, Pishumthong, Keishamthong, Uripok, Nagamapal, Lamlong, Hatta, Konung Mamang, Wangkhei and Kongba areas were choc-a-bloc with people consequently compelling the police enforce social distancing guidelines of 1 metre.
