Govt fixes price of grocery items

Imphal, Mar 27: The state government has fixed the price for day to day grocery items to be sold in the state.

According to an order by CAD&PD commissioner Bobby Waikhom, wholesale price of 100 kg bag of potato will be Rs 2200 while retail price has been fixed at Rs 30 per kg; wholesale price of onion (100 kg) is Rs 3500 while retail price is Rs 45 per kg; Wholesale price of salt (50 kg) is Rs 550 with MRP price in retail; wholesale price of sugar (100 kg) is Rs 4200 while retail price is 47 per kg; wholesale price of Mussori (red lentil) in large wholesale shop is Rs 6700 (100 kg) while retail price is Rs 75 per kg, wholesale price in medium sized wholesale shop is Rs 7000 (100 kg) while retail price is Rs 80 per kg and wholesale price in small wholesale shop has been fixed at Rs 9000 (100 kg) while retail price is Rs 100 per kg.

Wheat flour (atta) will be sold in wholesale price of Rs 1400 (45 kg) with retail price of Rs 38; wholesale price of maida flour is Rs 1470 (45 kg) with retail price at Rs 40; Wholesale price of mustard oil (Tagore tin) is Rs 1750 while retail price is Rs 1525 (15 litre); Wholesale price of Mairongbi (yellow lentil) large size is Rs 9500 (100 kg) while retail price is Rs 100 per kg, wholesale price of Mairongbi small size is Rs 8500 (100 kg) while retail price is Rs 90 per kg and wholesale price Mugh (mung beans) has been fixed at Rs 11,500 (100 kg) while retail price is Rs 125 per kg, it added.

The order further notified that price of refine oil (15 litre) has been fixed at Rs 1550 for wholesale and retail price is Rs 1575 (15 litre) while for palm oil the whole sale price (15 kg) will be Rs 1500; wholesale price of large size sagolhawai (black lentil) is Rs 12,500 (100 kg) with retail price of Rs 135, while wholesale price of small size sagolhawai is Rs 11,000 (100 kg) with retail price of Rs 120; Rice Permal (Andhra Pradesh) wholesale price is Rs 3800 (100 kg) while retail price is Rs 42 and wholesale price of rice (Uttar Pradesh) is Rs 3600 (100 kg) with retail price of Rs 40.

It also stated that the price will be reviewed again after the week and has been fixed with the recommendation from Chamber of Commerce.
