Govt warns co-passengers
IMPHAL, 24th Mar: Co-passengers of COVID-19 infected state girl who boarded Air Asia flight No 5-501 from Kolkata to Imphal via Agartala on March 21 have been advised to contact government authorities by 8am of March 25 through telephone number 0385- 2411668 so that necessary medical examinations could be initiated and quarantine them if necessary. Any co-passengers who failed to contact government authorities or skip medical examinations may face penalty under IPC sections 269 and 270. Issuing an order in this regard Tuesday, chief secretary Dr J Suresh Babu said that one-by-one verification of passengers who boarded Air Asia flight No 5-501 which landed at Imphal airport on March 21 has begun and efforts are on to quarantine them. A joint team comprising DCs and SPs of districts and health director is trying to identify co-passengers of the COVID-19 infected state girl but the team is finding difficulty in identifying addresses of all the co-passengers as flight ticket mentioned only name and telephone number.
In addition to this, mobile numbers of some co-passengers are on switch off mode.
