Scrutiny clears all 3 candidates
IMPHAL, 16th Mar: Scrutiny of the nomination papers filed by all three candidates contesting for the lone Rajya Sabha seat of the state was conducted on Monday and all of them cleared the scrutiny.
Three aspirants filed nomination papers till the last day (March 13) for filling of nomination papers for the biennial Rajya Sabha election slated for March 26. They were titular king Sanajaoba Leishemba of BJP, former MLA Tongbram Mangibabu of INC and Honreikhui Kashung of Naga People’s Front (NPF).
Nomination papers for all the candidates were scrutinised by returning officer cum Manipur Legislative Assembly secretary M Ramani Devi on Monday and all of them cleared the scrutiny without any argument.
The last date for withdrawal of nomination paper is March 18.
