Dr Dhabali hopes Govt hospitals excel in service
IMPHAL, 17th Oct: Babina Group of Industries chairman and managing director Dr Dhabali Thangjam has contended that government hospitals could offer the same treatments and services if they are equipped with the same facilities and opportunities as private hospitals.
He made the statement as chief guest at the celebration of the 3rd Foundation Day of Medilane along with the launch of Medilane Ambulance & Medilane Mobile application, held at the Imperial Hall of Classic Grande, Chingmeirong here Thursday.
Lauding the initiatives of Medilane, Dr Dhabali said that although Medilane Ambulance began its functions a year ago, it was formally launched on Thursday. Some of the ambulances are also equipped with life support systems. In addition, the mobile application offers varied services, which are applicable to all. However, the most noteworthy initiative of Medilane is the establishment of a nursing home, which offers hospice care for patients both at the facility and at their respective homes, he added.
Regarding air ambulances, Dr Dhabali said that air ambulances are important when transporting patients to other states for the necessary treatment, as they are already equipped with the essential life support systems needed for such transport. However, the state need not worry about air ambulances, he said and urged for consulting Medilane if an air ambulance is required.
Delivering the keynote address, Medilane chairman cum managing director M Dayanand alias Pibaren Meetei said that the 15 ambulances launched on Thursday are of two types - ambulances with advance life support and ambulances with basic life support. In addition, Medilane would begin offering air ambulance services, which would be far better and affordable than other air ambulances.
He further said that two Medilane ambulances would be assigned at each district. On top of this, Medilane would offer free service at the times of natural disasters/calamities. People could learn more about Medilane and its services through the newly launched mobile application, he conveyed.
