NPO reaches out to people in distress

SENAPATI, 17th Oct: In yet another yeoman service, Naga People's Organisation (NPO), which is the apex civil body in Senapati district, reached out to the parentless children as well as destitute persons who are being taken care of at different centres functional in the district. Following up on its humanitarian services rendered to Compassion Children Ministry (Orphanage) based at Karong and Sharon Training Centre, Taphou Onaeme last year, an NPO team on Friday provided relief items and edibles to Foundation for Maraoni Orphans and Destitute Upliftment (FMODU) based at Viewland Colony; Grace Trust Children Home at Liangmei Taphou; Calvary Healing Centre at Lakhamai village and Kavanam Prayer Centre. Among others, the Kavanam centre is currently looking after the wellbeing of three siblings, including two female kids all of whom are mentally challenged. They hail from Mao Taphou village.
In acknowledgement of the tireless services being rendered by these facilities to the denizens, NPO donated some bags of rice.
While talking to media persons, NPO functionaries conceded that even if the organisation has not been able to sustain such noble activities on routine basis due to certain compulsions, it would not hesitate in reaching out to those who are in dire need of assistance whenever possible. They, however, pledged to extend donations to children’s homes and destitute centres as and when the need arises.
