Moreh bandh withdrawn, special team to probe blasts
MOREH, 14th Oct: Moreh CSOs have withdrawn their indefinite Moreh bandh following assurance given by district administration and security agencies to investigate into the series of blasts that occurred in the border town by a special team of CID crime branch led by an SP.
A joint meeting was held in this regard at the office of Hill Tribal Council Moreh on Monday morning at 9. DC Tengnoupal Rupachandra, IGP Range III K Jayenta, SP Tengnoupal Th Vikramjit, 3rd IRB CO N Herojit, HTC Moreh president Joseph Ginkhosei, ADC Chandel member Chineiwa Haokip and leaders of KSO Moreh and other CSOs attended the meeting.
During the meeting, Kuki CSOs submitted a memorandum to the DC demanding a thorough and immediate investigation into the triple bomb blasts by constituting a team of investigation preferably by NIA or CBI so as to book the culprit responsible.
They also demanded the district administration to deploy a competent team of security personnel in Moreh with a mechanism to control anti-social elements for preventing similar occurrence while cautioning that Kuki CSO leaders shall not be held responsible for any eventuality in case the public rise against such act if the authority fails to act accordingly.
Consequently, the district administration and police officials assured to translate their demand into action. IGP K Jayenta told the CSOs that a special team of CID crime branch led by an SP will investigate into the series of blasts, following which, the CSOs resolved to withdraw the indefinite bandh with immediate effect.
Later, the government officers visited the October 11 blast site and assessed the crime scene.
