Free eye screening camp held

IMPHAL, 14th Oct: Lions Club of Imphal City, Imphal Central, Imphal United and Imphal Turel Views under the aegis of Lions Club International District 322 jointly organised a free eye screening camp for students of Khurkhul Model Standard School at the school premises on Monday.
According to Lions Club of Imphal City president L Ibomcha, the eye screening camp was organised as part of the club’s international programme and 270 students were screened for eye disorders. Of them, 20 students were found having visual and blurry eyesight problems. The four clubs will provide spectacles to those with blurry eyesight free of cost. The club will organise similar camps in different schools outside Imphal area, he added.
He further said that Lions Club of Imphal City is also planning to organise tree plantation programmes, cleanliness drive at ISKCON Temple, adoption of Keibi Sanapat Children Home under which different initiatives like construction of bathroom and provision for textbooks, school bags, footballs and drinking water facilities will be taken up, he added.
Presidents and several members of the four clubs attended the camp.
