MLA Dingo calls for promoting culture

IMPHAL, 13th Oct: Asserting that culture and sports of the state have major places in the Indian society and Indian culture is never complete without Manipuri culture, Sekmai MLA H Dingo has called upon all to strive for further enhancement and promotion of the state’s rich cultural heritage.
Speaking as chief guest at the opening ceremony of a six-month long Golden Jubilee foundation day celebration of Brahmapur Kala Sangam held a t YCB Complex, Brahmapur Aribam Leikai here on Sunday, MLA Dingo urged all to work towards promoting the rich culture of the state.
He also lauded Brahmapur Kala Sangam as an institution that has been tirelessly working towards promoting the culture of the state. Unfortunately, significance of the rich culture of the state is diminishing among the younger generations, which leads to degrading morality and behaviour among the youths, he said while stressing the need for reviving the sense of culture and good morality among the younger generation. Yaiskul MLA Th Satyabrata also lauded the initiatives of the institution and assured possible assistance from his side in making the six-month long golden jubilee celebration a grand success.
Brahmapur Kala Sangam president Priyobrata presided over the function, which also witnessed Lila performance by the institution’s artistes.
