Social worker dismisses assault allegation
KAKCHING, 11th Oct: Refuting the allegation of his driver and security escort assaulting AMSU Thoubal district committee general secretary Saikhom Ramananda, social worker Th Jadumani has clarified that there was no such incidents of his driver and escort assaulting anyone on that day.
Addressing media persons at the office premises of United Youth Club (UYC), Khangabok on Friday, Jadumani said that he attended a public function held at UYC ground on Thursday and there was no incident of his security escort assaulting or getting involved with anybody on that day.
Besides, the accused Laishram Nagin as alleged by AMSU Thoubal district committee is not his driver; he clarified, while terming the allegation as unfounded and appealed to AMSU to withdraw its charge and demand.
On the other hand, a statement of UYC said that a memorial programme of Hijam Irabot was organised at its ground on Thursday.
As the guests were giving speeches, Ramananda created ruckus using abusive words, which resulted in a brief altercation with the club volunteers.
Ramananda himself was ousted from the club earlier for his misconduct.
Apart from the altercation with the club volunteers, there was no incident of Jadumani’s driver and escort personnel assaulting him, the statement said.
Terming the statement of AMSU Thoubal district as unfortunate, UYC urged AMSU to sort out the misunderstanding if they like with the club instead of levelling false charges against the social worker.
