New CFC facility inaugurated

UKHRUL, 11th Oct: A newly constructed Common Facility Centre (CFC) building was inaugurated by Kamjong DC Zuringla Kengoo at Shakok village on Friday.
The CFC was constructed by Shakok villagers at a cost of Rs 13 lakh with financial assistance of Rs 10.7 lakh from UDCRMS/IFAD Ukhrul.
DC Zuringla Kengoo ceremonially cut the ribbon of the new facility in the presence of former DPD NERCOMP Ukhrul Tychicus Vashum, technical officer NERCOMP Somipam Lungleng and village leaders and public.
Speaking at the occasion, Zuringla Kengoo called for active participation of the public for grass-roots development and growth in the community. She also urged the villagers to take proper advantages of different government schemes including convergence under rural development and panchayati raj, Antyodaya and others for collective benefits of the village. Tychicus Vashum lauded Sakok villagers for their hard work and concerns for development. He said that many villages pursued implementation of CFC projects, but Sakok was awarded the project based on its efficiency and diligence. This facility is for use in varied purposes for economic enhancement of the villagers and urged public to take full advantage of it.
In his speech, Somipam Lungleng of UDCRMS said that the project was originally conceptualised as multi-utility facility, but later, came to be known as CFC since its purpose is to serve the villagers in varied ways.
He also urged the villagers for proper maintenance of the facility and to continue to work relentlessly for growth of the community. Meanwhile, NarmG Shakok coordinator Ngamreikhan Keishing expressed gratitude to NERCOMP/IFAD Ukhrul for fulfilling the needs of the villagers.
