Mega camp on PMSMA held in Tamenglong
TML, 9th Oct: A mega camp on Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Abhiyaan (PMSMA) was held for the first time at district hospital, Tamenglong on Wednesday.
During the camp, nutritious diets were provided to pregnant mothers. In all, 15 pregnant women out of 205 examined were found to be in high risk pregnancy group. Pregnant women who missed ANC check-up were also examined and advised them regarding care during pregnancy. Investigation for ABO, Hb%, RBS, Hepatitis B & C, ICTC/PPTCT was also carried out. Nutritional counseling by a dietician in coordination with ICDS were given to the women. Free medicines besides IFA distribution were also provided at the camp.
The camp was attended by DC Tamenglong Armstrong Pame, CMO Tamenglong Dr Chambo Gonmei and State Health Society maternal health state nodal officer Dr Meena Seram as chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively. Bivic Enterprises proprietor Thokchom Dijamani donated one TV set for use in the hospital for various health education, particularly during PMSMA.
ADC chairman Namsinrei Panmei, ADC member Charles Liangdiyang, DC Armstrong Pame, 23 AR commandant colonel Rajkumar, SDO Tamenglong Kachamthai Gangmei, DLO Dilimpou Pamei, CMO Dr Chambo Gonmei, and ex-MLA Janghemlung Panmei were the main donors of the PMSMA camp.
