Landhoni, daughter’s hospital stay upsets Joykisan
IMPHAL, 9th Oct: Not happy with the progress made in the ongoing investigation into the mysterious death of Ningthoujam Babysana, Thangmeiband AC MLA Kh Joykisan has asked as to why only Standard Robarth Higher Secondary School founder cum principal Ph Landhoni and her daughter (co-ordinator) who are amongst the five suspects in the case are being kept at the security ward of Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS). Addressing media persons at his Khoyathong residence here on Wednesday, Joykisan said that police arrested five persons including Landhoni, her daughter and son on suspicion of being involved in the death of Babysana who was found hanging inside the hostel of the school and since then they are in judicial custody but leaving aside three of them, Landhoni and her daughter are staying at JNIMS Security Ward which is questionable. He asked which doctor recommended the mother–daughter duo to stay at the hospital and for what treatment when hearing of the case is going on to establish the definite cause of death of the minor girl, which sent shockwaves across the state with many parents hesitating to put their children at school hostels. He mentioned that the government’s reluctance to hand over the case to Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) clearly indicates that it is shielding the ‘killers’ of Babysana but their mischievous act would be unfolded soon. The MLA also said that the resolution of the joint action committee formed against the mysterious death of Babysana to sustain its agitation is fallout of the government’s failure to solve the case despite consuming considerable amount of time.
