CHRONICLE BUREAU
IMPHAL, 8th Oct: Rongmei Naga Students’ Organisation, Manipur (RNSOM) has expressed discontentment over the irregular attendance of officers and staff of government departments in Tamenglong and Noney districts.
In a release, RNSOM general secretary Jeanthui Panmei stated that the officers and departmental staff are neglectful of their duties and owing to their high absent rate, public of the area are unable to address their grievances and concerns since the officers and staff can rarely be found in their respective stations.
The organisation also asserted that the lapse between the government departments and the public of the area is largely due to the lack of sincerity and unethical conduct shown by the officials. The general secretary warned that RNSOM will begin voluntary inspection of officers and staff’s attendance in every department in both districts and will seek for disciplinary action against irregular and unpunctual officers and staff from authorities concerned. RNSO also appealed to all ministers and departments to hand out instructions to staff and officials of district administrative departments in the larger interest of the public.
