Petrol dealers call off nationwide strike

IMPHAL, 11th Oct: All the three constituents of United Petroleum Front (UPF) have called off the proposed all-India strike planned on October 13 and 27. This decision was reportedly conveyed to the Oil Companies through written statements. UPF, comprising three petroleum dealers’ federations – The Federation of All India Petroleum Traders (FAIPT), The All India Petroleum Dealers Association (AIPDA) and Consortium of Indian Petroleum Dealers (CIPD), had earlier given notice for closure of all oil outlets on October 13 and indefinite closure of sales and supplies with effect from October 27.
