CCpur villages join Wildlife Week observance
CCPUR, 7th Oct: Five remote villages of Churachandpur district joined the 64th Wildlife Week observance which was marked by discussion on forest and wildlife conservation and alternative livelihood.
Chiefs, pastors, elders, teachers and students of N Saikot, S Kotlen, Santing L, Leijangphai, Tallinn and Tuilumjang villages joined the observance from Otober 4 to 6.
The 64th Wildlife Week observance was carried out under the guidance of divisional forest officer (DFO) N Ganesh and other officials of forest department, Churachandpur in association with Wildlife Crime Bureau (WCB).
The team camped at Santing L village overnight on October 5 and had lengthy discussion on forest and wildlife conservation and alternative livelihood with influential villagers.
The team also organised a rally with the locals who also took the pledge against causing harm to animals. The team returned to Churachandpur district headquarters Sunday.
